London Lettings Market - Increased Demand Over £1000 Per Week
Another flat let and managed through Chard - Kensington Park Road, W11 - asking £1,200 p/w let through Chard Notting Hill and Kensington lettings yesterdayChard's South Kensington and Notting Hill lettings offices are registering more applicants with budgets over £1000 per week. Yesterday two lets were agreed over this figure - one of which, at £1300 p/w in Holland Park, with a year's rent paid in advance to secure the deal.
The City is the major factor behind this; there's more and more evidence that senior executives are once again being move upwards and sideways - and not out through the door as we saw eighteen months ago.
For landlords with larger properties to let in central London this is great news.
We're seeing more enquiries for family houses to rent in Fulham through our Fulham lettings office on Harwood Road, off Fulham Broadway too. Fulham, in particular is suffering a drought of family sized properties to keep pace with demand - especially from francophone families with children enrolled in the French Lycee in Fulham, in Clancarty Road, SW6.
Partly this literal explosion in demand over the last week is likely to be seasonal. Companies generally prefer to relocate senior personnel outside school term time. The real news is that we didn't see anything like this number of higher spending tenants a year ago, which augers well for prospects into 2010.
