Shortage of Affordable one and two bedroom flats to rent in Fulham

Our Fulham lettings office registered six new applicants yesterday all looking to rent one or two bedroom flats at £300 / £400 per week. These are predominantly 20-something professionals - the very people who six months ago London estate agents might have expected to be looking to buy a property in Fulham.

Affordability is an issue - so there is a degree of price sensitivity on over-valued property. These are not expatriate tenants with generous relocation allowances. Consequently, one bedroom flats available for rental in Fulham at £300 and thereabouts per week and two bedroom flats suitable for professional sharers around the £400 mark are becoming very scarce.

Whilst more rental property is coming to to the market, it's mostly larger houses and flats to let that we are seeing, particularly family houses. There are some superb houses available and corporate tenants relocating to Fulham have more choice than is usual - for the present at least.
