More lettings stock in South Kensington

Richard Saltmer, manager of Chard South Kensington & Chelsea lettings office today took on ten properties to let in South Kensington and the surrounding area - all good standard flats to let at rents from £400 to £1500 per week.

This level of new instructions is indicative of the London property rental market - instructions have certainly picked up. We're taking on 40% more stock than a year ago. Tenants looking for a new home to rent, particularly larger "corporate" standard flats to rent in South Kensington, Chelsea, Earls Court (particularly on garden squares), Sloane Square and Knightsbidge are seeing more choice than before - now running closer to 2002/3 levels.

The main shortage is still of smaller, more affordable flats to rent. A one bedroom flat to let with Chard in Addison Road W14 at £350 per week today attracted two competing offers, both from very suitable tenants. One and two bedroom flats at under £450 per week are certainly the hot ticket right now and prices are very firm, at this end of the market at least.
